Healthcare professionals are an important resource
In today’s economy, more patients without health insurance may be talking with their healthcare providers about their difficulty filling prescriptions and staying compliant with doses.
A recent survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that, in an effort to save expenses, approximately¹:
• One in 5 households said they have not filled a prescription
in the past 12 months
• One in 6 households said they have cut pills in half or skipped
doses in the past 12 months to make their prescriptions last longer
Prescription medicines critical to management of chronic disease
As healthcare providers know, cutting back on prescribed medicines can represent a significant health risk, particularly for many of the 11.4 million working-age Americans without health insurance who suffer from at least one chronic disease.²
• Uninsured adults with chronic disease who delay or forgo needed
medicines and treatments are more likely to suffer from poorer
health outcomes, reduced quality of life, and even hospitalization
or death³
• This can also lead to higher healthcare costs in the long run3
Together Rx Access offers immediate help
With recently expanded income levels, even more hardworking Americans are eligible to save on their prescriptions. For example, a family of 4 whose income is $90,000 or less may now qualify — compared to $60,000 in the past. Nearly 90 percent of uninsured individuals and families are eligible for the Together Rx Access® Card — learn more.
